Emily Soffel
Clinical Team Leader
Emily believes that humanity is designed for healthy functioning through flourishing connection with oneself, relationships, and God. She strives to provide a safe space and partnership with clients in order to assist them in moving through the experiences that keep them stuck in order to foster lasting change. Emily engages clients from a holistic and integrative perspective utilizing evidence-based practices—such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), brain-based modalities, psycho-education on lifestyle and nutrition, as well as other modalities—as the roadmap to obtaining a life not of surviving but thriving.
Emily has nearly 10 years of experience working in the mental health field with a background in residential treatment, school based services, and intensive outpatient and outpatient therapy services for substance misuse and co-morbid disorders, and outpatient individual therapy. This has afforded her a love for incorporating trauma-informed practices and community support in the treatment of a wide range of ages and challenges. Specifically, Emily has experience working with clients struggling with trauma, substance misuse, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, spiritual issues and chronic illness.
Emily has a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of West Virginia. Additionally, she is EMDR Certified and a Consultant-in-training through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) and maintains certification as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist through the National Acupuncture and Detoxification Association and the West Virginia Board of Acupuncture.
