Madison Sheflett

Therapist

Madison strives to be a tool for her clients, offering a supportive and nonjudgmental presence in their lives. She believes each person is a complex, multifaceted individual, and approaches counseling holistically, recognizing the interconnectedness of their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and overall well-being. Rather than viewing her clients solely through the lens of their challenges, she sees them as whole individuals with inherent strengths, unique experiences, and the capacity for growth and healing.

Madison’s therapeutic approach integrates trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions including EMDR-informed clinical practice, brain-based modalities, psychoeducation, an attachment lens, and other modalities to help clients better understand themselves and foster meaningful change. From an Emotional Brain Training approach I aim to address challenges from the “bottom up” by helping clients understand the impacts of their nervous system and overall stress functioning.

Madison is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Criminology and a Master’s of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from West Virginia University. Madison previously worked in the mental health field, providing ABA services to young children and during her internship, treating substance use, trauma, anxiety, depression, and persistent mental illness in outpatient facilities with adults.
