Janet believes that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership in which she serves as a guide to help her clients produce peace within their lives. She creates a safe space by providing a warm and relatable atmosphere for her clients. From the perspective of a person-centered approach, Janet utilizes psychoeducation, solution focused, and brain based modalities with a holistic approach to produce change.
Janet has experience in both individual and group settings and has worked with populations of teens, couples, and families. particularly in the areas of substance misuse, grief, life transitions, and crisis intervention in MAT programs. She has worked in the mental health field for nearly 5 years. Through her profession, education, and life experiences, Janet has developed a passion for helping others who are having a hard time looking for the good in their experiences. Janet’s down-to-earth nature and genuine empathy make it easy for clients to connect with her, as she helps them navigate life’s challenges with warmth, understanding, and a shared belief in finding meaning even in difficult experiences.
Janet has a Master of Social Work degree from Walden University with focus on Crisis and Trauma. She holds professional licensure in the state of West Virginia as a LGSW, and is currently receiving supervision towards licensure as a LICSW.
